Product FAQs

What products can I use alongside a corrective serum?

Ultraceuticals Corrective Serums are designed to be used with your daily essential products such as cleansers, moisturisers, and sun protection. This is to ensure that our highly efficacious correctors are used with products that contain ingredients to help complement and support healthy skin daily.

What are the benefits of using Resurfacing & Pore Refining serum?

Resurfacing & Pore Refining Serum is a dual-action formula that visibly reduces the appearance of pores while smoothing skin texture.

How do I best apply Resurfacing & Pore Refining serum?

After cleansing, apply 2-3 pumps to your fingertips and massage into the skin. Apply once a day to face and neck on alternate days, gradually building to once daily as tolerated.

How do Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) benefit the skin?

AHA and BHA work to exfoliate your skin at the surface level, sloughing off the uneven texture and excess dirt that may clog your pores and dull your complexion. Removing dead cells will allow for new skin cell turnover and support a smoother and plumper appearance.

Is Resurfacing & Pore Refining Serum suitable for all skin types?

This product is suitable for Normal, Dry, Oily and Combination skin types, addressing pores and uneven skin texture.

But what is a pore exactly? And is it always visible?

Our skin contains millions of pores, mostly not visible to human eye, all of them open, allowing skin to “breathe.” Each pore contains a hair follicle, and a sebaceous gland, producing sebum. Pores are all over the body, but most of the time, more visible on the face (more sebum). Any skin type, whether it’s oily, normal, or dry, can take on the appearance of having large, open pores.

What is our new Gel Suspension Technology?

This technology encapsulates and suspends oil droplets within a gel-like structure. Upon contact with the skin, it promotes quick break-up, ensuring fast absorption and leaving a non-sticky, silky after feel.

What is our AHA Time-Release Delivery System?

The benefits of AHA’s are well known and include exfoliation, moisturisation, collagen synthesis, firming and skin lightening. But the downside effect of AHA treatments can be a stinging or burning sensation directly after product application. At Ultraceuticals, we used a Time-Release delivery system which has all the benefits of Alpha-Hydroxy Acids with enhanced tolerance. This mechanism has been clinically proven to help reduce or prevent irritation and therefore makes the product gentler on the skin. This mechanism allows for a lower immediate concentration of Mandelic Acid, and instead, Mandelic Acid is slowly released into the skin.

How quickly do Ultraceuticals corrective serums absorb into the skin?

Our formula’s advanced deliver technology enables optimal product absorption, meaning our actives penetrate deeper and work harder for accelerated skin results.

Do Ultraceuticals corrective serums contain cosmeceutical-grade ingredients?

Supercharge your skin health thanks to the transformative power of our potent corrective serums. Enriched with the highest concentrations of cosmeceutical-grade ingredients, we have a product solution for every skin concern. Our range of corrective serums use potent and proven ingredients such as Vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Provitamin B5 and Vitamin B3 in order to deliver real visible results.

What are the main causes of large, visible pores?

While being strongly driven by genetics, enlarged pores are exacerbated by diverse factors, such as: Age, Ethnicity, Gender, Sebum quantity and Environmental factors such as UV or pollution.

Excessive Oil is caused when sebaceous glands release sebum, a natural protective oil that helps to keep the skin soft and supple. However, some skins produce an excessive amount of sebum. In women, sebum output and pore size increase substantially during the ovulation phase of the menstrual cycle, as increased progesterone affects sebaceous gland activity.

Loss of Firmness in the skin can also contribute to large, visible pores. When the skin loses its firmness, the pores can become bigger because the skin around them relaxes and sags, causing the pore walls to collapse resulting in a larger opening.
